Fr. Mark Cooper, O.S.B., will retire from the position of vice president of finance at the end of the current fiscal year, after an extraordinary 33 years of responsibility for the college’s fiscal health. He will continue as the treasurer of the Abbey Corporation that includes responsibility for Saint Anselm Abbey, Saint Raphael Parish, and Woodside Priory in California.
A member of the Class of 1971, Fr. Mark majored in politics. He received the Alumni Award of Merit in 2003 in recognition of his hard work on the college’s behalf.
Fr. Mark stewarded the college’s resources with great care and helped build the endowment from nearly nothing to nearly $100 million. He has also overseen expansion of the college’s physical facilities and constant improvement to the campus environment.
“I am deeply grateful to Fr. Mark for his outstanding and successful work during these many years,” said Father Jonathan DeFelice, O.S.B., president of the college.
