Revived Hawks Hall of Fame Inducts New Members

Six new members were inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame at Saint Anselm College during the 2016-2017 academic year. Established in 1980, the Hall of Fame lapsed for a decade before rebounding this year with honors to four student-athletes, a former coach and a former athletic director.

Four Anselmians were inducted as the Hall of Fame Class of 2007, all four having been identified 10 years ago (the last year for which a Hall of Fame slate was announced):

  • ED GORMAN ’79, Men’s Basketball
  • FRANK MCBRIDE ’90, Men’s Soccer
  • ANNAMARIA (ADDONZIO) SPIRITI ’97, Women’s Softball
  • NICK GABARDINA, Baseball Coach 1979-1986 and 1989 and Basketball Scorekeeper

For 2017, one student-athlete and one administrator were inducted into the reinvigorated Hawks Hall of Fame:

  • KEVIN DEBENEDETTO ’10, Men’s Lacrosse
  • JO-ANN NESTER, former Athletic Director of Saint Anselm College

Also recognized was CHRIS MADIGAN ’90 for his induction into the Northeast-10 Conference Hall of Fame. In 1990, Madigan was named Most Valuable Player as he led the men’s basketball team to NE-10 Championship, and in 1996 he was inducted into the Hawks Hall of Fame.
