Colleen Grant '14: Wedu Marketing

My name is Colleen Grant. I am currently a senior Business major here at Saint Anselm College. This semester I have taken on a marketing internship at Wedu in Manchester, NH. I chose Wedu because this firm encompasses many different aspects of marketing, which has helped me pinpoint which parts I like, dislike, and would like to learn more about.

Colleen's internship at a marketing agency has given her real-world experience and helped her decide on her future career.

Since I started at Wedu, the public relations department has been working on an advertising campaign for their client, National Grid, called “Light Up Your Library”. For this tour, National Grid partnered up with Radio Disney and is traveling to selected libraries across Massachusetts and Rhode Island promoting energy efficiency. Throughout the month of November people can vote for each participating library. Whichever library has the most votes by the end of the month will receive a $15,000 energy makeover.

I have been fortunate enough to take an active role in the production of this campaign. Not only am I working at almost every event but I am also able to sit in on Wedu’s calls with National Grid and give my input on what the campaign is doing right or what needs to be changed. This hands on approach has really helped me explore what goes into putting together an event.

Working with Wedu on this campaign has helped me to realize that public relations is what I would like to put my focus on after college.
