Post-Season Push: Hawks Teams Seek Championships

Women's hockey, men's and women's basketball, and the men's ski team have all extended their season with post-season games in the days ahead. Although most teams will compete on the road, men's basketball will host a home contest on Saturday afternoon. In chronological order, here are this weekend's contests. GO HAWKS!

Women's hockey faces off against Sacred Heart University

  • WHERE: Sports Center of Connecticut (hosted by Sacred Heart University)
  • WHEN: 4 p.m. Saturday

The top-seeded Hawks will face #4-seed Sacred Heart in the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Open semifinals on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Saint Anselm College women's hockey The Saint Anselm College women's hockey team clinched its first regular season conference championship since 2007-08 by winning the NEHC title with a 6-0 victory at the University of Southern Maine. The win also stretched the Hawks' unbeaten streak to 12 games to close out the regular season.

The regular season championship was the third in program history for Saint Anselm, in addition to back-to-back ECAC East regular season titles in 2006-07 and 2007-08. Saint Anselm will be the top seed in the NEHC Open hosted by Sacred Heart University.

Women's basketball travels to American International Sunday

  • WHEN: 3 p.m. Sunday

Saint Anselm will travel to American International College, the No. 2 seed in the Southwest, for an NE10 Quarterfinal matchup on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m.

Saint Anselm College women's basketballThe Hawks wrapped up the regular season at 18-9 overall and 13-8 in the NE10 and have earned the No. 3 seed in the Northeast Division in the upcoming Northeast-10 Conference Tournament. Four players reached double-figures in scoring to propel the Hawks to a 69-60 win over Southern New Hampshire University as the squad concluded NE10 play.

Men's basketball hosts SCSU for Sunday afternoon contest

Saint Anselm will host the No. 3 seed from the Southwest, Southern Connecticut State University, on Sunday afternoon in a 3 p.m. matchup.

Saint Anselm College men's basketballThe Hawks finish the regular season at 17-8 overall and 13-8 in the Northeast-10 and have earned the No. 2 seed in the Northeast Division of the NE10 Tournament. Tim Guers posted his first career triple-double to lead three players with 20+ points as the Saint Anselm College men's basketball team defeated Southern New Hampshire University, 95-87 in their final regular season contest of the year.

Men's skiing heads to Oregon in March

  • WHERE: Mount Bachelor, Bend, Oregon
  • WHEN: March 8 and 10

Saint Anselm College men's skiingFor the first time since 2013 and the second time in program history, the Saint Anselm College men's skiing team qualified for the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA) National Championships after finishing fifth at the USCSA Eastern Regional at West Mountain.

The USCSA National Championships are slated for Wednesday (GS) and Friday (SL), March 8 and 10 at Mount Bachelor in Bend, Oregon.
