College Announces Spooktacular Halloween Schedule

Whether you're looking for frightful movies, pumpkin carving, trick-or-treating or ghost stories (with monks!) the Hilltop is sure to keep you frightfully entertained with nearly two weeks of Halloween programming. Events sponsored by Campus Activities Board, the Dana Center, Residential Life & Education and Student Activities & Leadership Programs offer a variety of student-only and family-friendly events.

Family-friendly Events

Events for the entire Anselmian community:

  • October 26 – 3 – 6 p.m. – Family Halloween festival in Fr. Bernard Court ("The Uppers.") Join residents of Father Bernard Court ("The Uppers") for trick-or-treating, face painting, pumpkin painting, S'mores, hot cider, cookie decorating and a door decoration contest!
  • October 26 – 7 p.m.The Magic of the Night: Haunted Family Magic – Celebrate Halloween with the Dana Center! It's part Disney's Haunted Mansion, part Las Vegas magic show and 100% first-class illusion and entertainment.

Can't-miss for Students

For students only:

  • October 27 – 3:30 – 10:30 p.m. Screamfest at Canobie Lake Park in Salem, N.H.
  • October 31 – 4 – 7 p.m. CABOO on the Quad.

Wednesday, October 24

  • 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Trick-or-treating with Girls Inc. in Joan of Arc and Baroody Hall.
  • 7:30 p.m. Joan of Arc and Baroody Hall door decoration judging. (Contact R.A. Megan for more details.)

Thursday, October 25

  • 6 p.m. Trick-or-treating with Kid's CafĂ© in Collins and Falvey Houses.
  • 9 p.m. Scary movie night and pizza with R.A. Dan in Hilary Hall.

Friday, October 26

  • 3 – 6 p.m. Family Halloween Festival – Join residents of Father Bernard Court ("The Uppers") for trick-or-treating, face painting, pumpkin painting, s'mores, hot cider, cookie decorating and a door decoration contest! Alumni, faculty and staff are invited to bring family members – area organizations will also be dropping by with children throughout the event.
  • 7 p.m. The Magic of the Night: Haunted Family Magic – Celebrate Halloween with the Dana Center! It's part Disney's Haunted Mansion, part Las Vegas magic show and 100% first-class illusion and entertainment, Magic of the Night is dynamic, offbeat and exuberantly original. Bring the family and be part of this unforgettable evening of Halloween magic!
  • 8 p.m. Dia de Los Muertos Nacho Festival (Day of the Dead Nacho Festival) with R.A. Michelle in the 2nd and 3rd Streets common room.
  • 9 p.m. – 2 a.m. Snack and horror movies in the Dominic Hall lobby.
  • 9 p.m. Pumpkin Painting with R.A. Molly in the JOA basement.
  • 10 p.m. – Giant Pumpkin Carving with R.A. Martha in the JOA basement.

Saturday, October 27

  • 3:30 – 10:30 p.m. Screamfest at Canobie Lake Park in Salem, N.H. (Sponsored by the Student Activities & Leadership Programs Office.)
  • 9 p.m. – 2 a.m. Pumpkin Carving Contest in Front of Dominic Hall.
  • 9 p.m. Scary movie night with spooktacular cupcakes! With R.A. Catherine in Bertrand Hall.
  • 10 p.m. – 12 a.m. Spooky Smoothies with R.A. Danielle in the Joan of Arc basement.
  • 10 p.m. – 12 a.m. Trick or Treats…? With R.A. Katie.

Tuesday, October 30

  • 8 – 10 p.m. Join R.A. Aleesha for Ghost Stories and S'mores. Enjoy smores and ghost stories with Fr. Cecil in the Croydon Court courtyard.

Wednesday, October 31

  • 4 – 7 p.m. CABOO - Join Campus Activities Board on the Quad for caramel apples, mini donuts, Puritan Backroom chicken tenders (!!!), hot chocolate and hot cider. Grab a free mug with a hot drink before you build your scarecrow. (C.A.B. provides the hay and stakes, you provide the clothes and head.) The winning team receives a $200 prize, second place walks away with $100, third place takes home $80.
  • 9 p.m. – 12 a.m. Trick or Treat – Find the on-duty R.A's. in the Hilary/Streets and Brady/Bertrand areas to get some Halloween candy!

Friday, November 2

  • 9 p.m. Dominic Halloween Hall and Door Decoration Judging. Contact R.A. Collin for more details.
  • 10 p.m. – 12 a.m. Creepy Crawly Obstacle Course with R.A. Erica in the JOA basement.
  • 9 – 11 p.m. Join the R.A's. in the Saint Benedict Court ("The Lowers") courtyard for pumpkin and cookie decorating, candied/caramel apples, costume contest, door decorating contest, and ghost stories with Fr. Jerome.

Saturday, November 3

  • 9 p.m. – 2 a.m. Horror Movie Marathon in the Dominic Hall lobby. Vote for the movies you want to see! Contact R.A. Chris for more details
