Women's Lacrosse Earns First Ever National Ranking

The Saint Anselm College women's lacrosse team was ranked 15th in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) national poll that was released Tuesday afternoon. The Hawks, who garner their first national ranking in the history of the program, were the only new team to break into the Week 4 poll. With the addition of Saint Anselm, the Northeast-10 now has seven teams ranked nationally, which is the most of any conference.

Saint Anselm (3-3, 1-1 NE-10) collected 18 votes after going 2-0 last week with a thrilling 19-18 victory against 12th-ranked Molloy College in their home opener Tuesday and a 23-18 win at American International College on Saturday.

The other win this season for the Hawks came against No. 8 Dowling College (13-11), while two of their three losses have been to nationally-ranked opponents, including No. 3 C.W. Post (16-5) and 10th-ranked Merrimack College (14-11).

The Hawks will immediately put their brand new national ranking to the test as they battle a pair of top-10 squads this week. The Hawks take on seventh-ranked Stonehill College on the road Wednesday, March 21 at 4 p.m. before playing host to No. 2 Adelphi University on Saturday, March 24 (1 p.m.) at Grappone Stadium.
